Waiting is the Hardest Part

We've been basically watching the phone and waiting for it to ring for the past 2 days. We had a potential buyer come through the house on Sunday and received word from her realtor Monday that it was her top choice, that the couple needed to make a decision this week, and that she just wanted to come by again with her mother to take another look since her husband was unable to come in town to see it in person (she apparently took tons of pics and sent to him over the weekend). She asked for our disclaimer and basically said we were getting an offer without directly saying we were getting an offer. She came back with her mom late Tuesday evening, and we haven't heard anything since. The waiting is killing us. So keep all your fingers and toes crossed for us - we are ready to move forward!

Embarrassed in Target; Part II

I knew it would happen again, it was only a matter of time. Last week during our bi-weekly trip to Target, I was browsing some tops in the ladies department, which sits right across the aisle from ladies lingerie. A huge poster of a woman modeling the newest bra style hung over a large rack (no pun intended) of bras, and much to my dismay this display did not escape Casey's eagle eyes. Here's how the following exchange went:

Casey: "What are those, Mommy?"
Me: "Bras, Casey." (as quietly as possible)
Casey: (in his LOUDEST "inside" voice) "Nope, those are boobs Mommy!"
Me: (again, quietly) "OK, thank you."
Casey: (loud voice) "And YOU have BOOBS Mommy!"
Me: (now trying to hide under my cart) "Yes, Casey. I have boobs."
Casey: "Those are boobs. And you have boobs. Boobs. Boooooobs. BOOOOBS!!!"
And then he began to sing a little song - "Boooobs, boobs, boouuaaaahhhuuuubs!"

Needless to say, we were the hit of the ladies department. Several woman just snickered to themselves, but a few others had enough pity on me to giggle while nodding sympathetically at us. I shiver to think what my next public embarrassment will entail.

Getting Better

I've been really working hard lately on my photography - trying to take lots of practice shots and really trying hard to better understand the best way to operate the camera in different lighting conditions. Most professional photographers will say that it is not the camera that matters, but the light. Anyway, I've had 3 photo sessions this month (a new record - ring the bell!) and feel like I am improving with each one. However, my poor children remain my primary test subjects. Connor is a bit easier at this stage than Casey, and trying to get one of the two of them together is nearly impossible, but here are a few recent pics that I am pretty proud of.

Mother's Day

It's a beautiful day here in Louisville and we've been enjoying this Mother's Day together. The boys gave me a silver frame from Pottery Barn, and we went to brunch at The Bristol and then to the park. I took lots of photos, and it's going to be a tough decision on which one to chose to fill my new frame. You can check out some of the photos here: www.flickr.com/gp/68805461@N00/77Wi2K

New Pastimes

Lately it feels like all we do is clean, organize, and then get the heck out of the house so someone else can come in and poke around through our belongings. But we do other stuff, too. Like when it's rainy outside, we build castles so Casey can pretend he's a "knipe".
And Casey has finally taken up golf. Whew! We were starting to worry that our hopes of him becoming the next Tiger Woods were in vain. Look at that swing! He's a natural!
Connor continues to teethe - but look! Results! His first two teeth appeared early last week. Although he is sleeping better, as you can tell from the photo they have not helped to improve his overall disposition. Actually, he is a pretty happy boy. When he's not screaming.
